Veronica grinned at the guy on the other side of the check-out, batting her eyes flirtatiously.
Ron, we have to get going. I have something I want to show you. Basilius spoke to her, his voice squeeking in her mind.
In a little while, Bas. Can't you see I'm busy?
Yes, he sniffed, I see you're returning to your old ways as well. But this can't wait. I need to show you this.
Fine, I'll be there in a minute. She left the store, asking one of her co-workers to take over for her.
"Yes, Bas, what did you want...oh." She noticed a girl standing at the far side of the mall parking lot, seemingly waiting for someone...and there was a white tiger with her.
That is your enemy, Veronica, Basilius told her, The white tiger and her bond-partner. The tiger's name is Tyerra.

Caleb ran up to Jen, "Hey Jen, sorry I'm late, ran into some bad traffic." he said. He hugged her in greeting, "Ready?"

Jen smiled at Caleb and returned his hug.
"Yeah, I'm ready," she told him, then took his hand as they walked to the mall entrance.

Holy geez! They're coming over here! I need to get back to work! Veronica told Basilius, then ducked inside, stifling a yawn.
I really should request the night-shift, she thought as she got behind the register again. Ever since she and Basilius got together, she had been feeling more and more like sleeping during the day. That crazy bat is doing all sorts of weird things to me.
I heard that, Bas told her from where he hung outside, watching the approaching figures.

"What do you want to do first, shop or movie?" Caleb asked. Tzuna and Tyerra were right behind them, making sure that nothing was gonna harm them. "Caleb." Tzuna said suddenly, "I know Tzuna, I smell it to." he knew there was another bonded pair close.

Jen was about to answer when Tyerra gave a low growl.
What, Tyerra? she asked. She had never heard Tyerra growls so threateningly before.
I believe I may have found an old...friend of mine, she said, looking around. She sensed Basilius near. The stupid bat was always trying to ruin things for her. He had been responsible for the deaths of many humans, and a few spirits, too, though they were rarer. Tyerra didn't see the bat, but kept alert.
I'm sure glad it's day right now. That rat with wings is probably drunkenly tired at the moment.
Jen wondered about it, but decided that if Tyerra wanted to tell her more, she would. She turned back to Caleb.
"I think I want to go shopping first. Just one store, then we can get back to it after the movie."

"Ok that's fine." he said. He kept a sharp look out for the bat, but didn't see anything as they went into the store

Veronica looked up as the two...no, make that four entered the store. She thought it very humorouse to see and white tiger and a wolf enter the mall. She tried to keep from panicking as Tyerra got closer. Bas kept his cool, but then, he wasn't five feet away from a white tiger that hated him. She turned her eyes to the humans with them. She noticed the guy walking by was very cute. If he wasn't taken at the moment...but she had work to do. She kept a close eye on the quartet as they browsed the store, trying to keep her mind awake enough to focus on her business.

Jen paid no notice to the raven-haired woman behind the cashier as she looked through the white tops and things. She noticed a white tiger print shirt hanging on a rack. She turned to Caleb, holding the shirt up against herself.
"What do you think? Does it work for me?"

Caleb laughed to himself, "You wanna look like Tyerra with everything don't you?" he teased. "It looks great Jen, tiger stripes work for you.". Caleb was taking in everything around him, the smell had gotten stronger when he entered the store.

Jen grinned at him.
"Well, we already look so much alike, I figured why not go all they way?" She looked at the price, then decided to get it. Walking up to the cashier, she smiled at the clerk behind. The dark-haired woman smiled back.
"Is this all for you today?" she asked, reaching for the shirt.
"Yes, I think so." Jen waited as she checked out the shirt. She noticed that at one point, the cashier looked in Tyerra's general direction, but she gave no indication that she had seen the tiger. After she got the shirt back, Jen turned to Caleb.
"Ready to go catch the movie?" she asked.

"Yeah." he said after a minute. He had sworn that the girl had looked right at Tyerra and had a mark on her, but he couldn't be for certain. "Tzuna, go jump her and see what happens." Caleb said. "Jen, double back, I wanna see something."

"Okay..." Jen said, a little comfused. They turned aside and walked to a place that allowed them to watch the cashier.
"Uh, Caleb? Why are we watching her?" She didn't have to wait long for an answer.

Veronica had just turned back to do some more work, relieved that the tiger didn't attack her or anything, when she noticed the wolf sneaking up behind her.
Oh...no... she thought.

"Just wait." he told Jen.
Tzuna came up behind the cashier, making sure that she knew it. She started growling and jumped at the girls throat. If she wasn't bonded, Tzuna would pass through her like a ghost and the person wouldn't notice, but if she was bonded, the cashier was in trouble.

Veronica felt the wolf crash into her, hoping with all her might that it wouldn't try to bite her. Falling on the floor with a loud crash, she drew the attention of several shoppers and other workers. One of them came up to her.
"Uh, Ronnie? What happened? Are you alright?"
"Yeah," she said, glaring at the wolf and attempting to get up, "I'm fine. I just tripped. Help me up, will you?"

Jen watched the whole ordeal and gasped.
"Caleb, she saw Tzuna! Tzuna mad her fall! That means..." her voice trailed off as she recalled Tyerra's earlier comments about a bat.
"Do you think she's bonded to that bat Tyerra was talking about earlier?"

"It's very possible. I thought I saw a bond mark on her." Caleb said. He had tapped into Tzuna's powers of hearing, hoping to catch the sound of flapping wings
