Eavan moved her head to lay upon Caleb’s shoulder. “I dislike acting. I have no patience to play around but at times it has been necessary.” She moved her hand across her, gripping his upper arm softly. “My mission…is to turn you. My father sees something within you that he did not divulge to me. I only know that failure on my part will be met with severe consequences. I have been trained in seduction as well as combat. My task was to seduce you and lure you into his service.” She looked up to gaze into his eyes, her head still resting against him. “You are different than I had thought. I cannot lie to you. I cannot hurt you. I don’t know why but my mission is no longer important to me. The wrath of my father is not important.”

"The wrath of your father is nothing compared to the love of a true friend." he said, eyes sparkling. So, the Dark Lord means to turn him hunh....it will never happen, in fact, he thought with a chuckle, seems the opposite effect has happened.

Eavan stared out blankly into the night sky. “The wrath of my father could plunge the earth as we know it into an age of darkness and you have no idea of what it means to incur his wrath.” She lowered her head as she said the last. “One time when I disappointed him, he whipped me.” She stood up slowly as she lifted the back of her shirt to reveal the welts left by her father as a painful reminder of what failure would cost her.

"Yes, but the love a true friends can shine through the darkness." he said, taking his hands and running them over her back, the welts slowly disappearing as he touched each one.

Eavan closed her eyes as she felt his hands on her back. She felt the welts slowly disappear as he touched each one. She turned to look at him. “Thank you. You truly are a strange man Caleb. I have told you who I am and you do not flinch. Anyone else would have already drawn steel.” She turned to motion at Mica. “If she finds out she will fight.” Eavan shook her head softly. “No one can understand that I have not chosen this life. I have no choice. My fate was sealed on the day I was born.”

"You can always change your fate, that's human nature in itself. You can use help to do it, but fate changes with each choice that we make. As far as Mica goes, let me take care of her." Caleb said.

Eavan turned to kneel before Caleb. She looked deeply into his eyes. “And what of my father? Caleb he will kill me if I do not do his bidding but not until he has paired me with another and I produce a daughter.” She turned her head from him as she felt the tears well within her eyes. “Do you have any idea at all what I am to him?”

"He can't kill you if your already dead." he said flatly.

Eavan jumped from where she knelt at hearing Caleb's response and the flat tone of his voice. Her body tensed as she drew into a fighting stance. “What did you say?” she asked as she pulled the long knife from beneath her shirt behind her holding it at the ready. “Was I mistaken? Are you no better than him?” Her chest heaved as she drew breath. Her mind raced as she quickly worked the many scenarios unfolding within it. Her heart began to beat wildly as she watched him.
Mica felt herself yanked from her deep sleep. She rose quickly as she felt something wrong. Her hand absently drew the short sword as she ran to the back where she felt Caleb. Her eyes landed on the woman, knife in hand standing before him in a threatening manner. Mica screamed out as she leapt at the woman. Her sword menacingly swinging down toward Eavan with all the might she possessed.
Eavan turned just as Mica screamed, feeling the threat before she saw it in reality. She spun the long knife within her hand so that its blade now rested along the length of her forearm as she brought it before her to deflect Mica’s blow. The movement caught Mica by surprise, throwing her off balance as Eavan used the moment of surprise to throw her into the exterior wall of the house. She spun, positioning herself in a corner so that she could see both Caleb and Mica. She knew there was only one other unaccounted for but he was outside the front of the house.

"STOP!!" Caleb screamed. He never got the chance to explain himself before the fight ensued. "Mica, stop! Eavan, you stop also!" he said over the fray.

Mica looked at Caleb, her eyes flashing with intensity. “Have you gone completely daft? She was holding a knife on you for Pete’s sake. Did you hit your head when you were prisoner in that cave?” Mica began to relax slightly but remained ready.
Eavan kept her eyes focused squarely on Mica. “You said you were going to kill me!” she yelled back. “You expect me to just roll over and let that happen?” Her voice held strong as did her resolve. She started forward slightly as she watched Mica. “I told you who I really was and you gave a veiled threat.”
Mica brushed Caleb’s mind. ‘Who she really is?’ Mica probed softly trying to find the answer she sought. ‘Caleb what are you hiding from me?’

"No I didn't say I was going to kill you. If you would let me explain before you jump to the fight, then you would see what I was thinking." he said. "Mica, I'll explain later, you won't be happy, but she's the strongest ally that we have." he said through their link.

Eavan looked at him and rose slowly relaxing her posture. “But I..you…” she shook her head in confusion.
Mica turned on Caleb as her eyes flashed briefly. She relaxed as she let out a heavy sigh and sheathed her sword. She looked at Eavan as she moved back into the house. She bumped her hard as she passed. Eavan turned her gaze following Mica. Her eyes narrowed. She was quickly developing a strong dislike of this woman.

"Mica, that was uncalled for." he said through thier link as she left. "Eavan, if we can make it look like you died, then what choice would HE have in finding you and seeing if your mission was a sucess. I can make a perfect copy of you and make sure that he finds you." he explained

Eavan shook her head as she moved to sit back on the glider. “Caleb I don’t know.” She told him softly as she suddenly felt very tired. She rubbed her temples to ward off the dull, throbbing pain that was beginning to build.
