Mica sat on the ground as darkness began to fall. "Doug we are going to have to stop. We can't search in these woods after dark. It's too dangerous."

"I am not one to give up....but you are right Mica, it is too risky. Lets head back and get a fresh start in the morning. I will leave my mark here so we can find it again." Doug said as he dropped his pants to mark the place. He turned to Mica and said "It is something I enherited from Salgou."

Mica burst out in laughter as she fell to the ground. She laughed so hard she almost left her mark unintentionally. "Doug I thought we would just camp out here tonight but now I think maybe over there would be better."

"Yea I guess you are right" Doug said with a smile on his face. "Here is a spot in this cave. I will make us a fire so we can warm up. " Doug proceeded to pick up some wood for the fire.

Mica headed into the cave. She touched her power to ignite the a golden globe as it formed in her hand. She looked around the cave. It would do for the night. There was a small opening in the top so the smoke could easily escape. "This looks good Doug. I'll grab some food while you build the fire."

"Yea ok the fire is made." Doug said as he sat down on a rock and began to warm himself up. "Man, it is mighty cold tonight. I wonder why, seeing as how it is still warm weather season."

Mica smiled as she came back with the rabbits. "Here you get to clean em. I caught em!" She laughed softly. "I don't know why it's so cold tonight. It's strange."

"Thats fine, I can clean them reall quick like." Doug said as he extended his cougar claws to clean them. "Here, I made a blanket out of some vines I found in the back. It is kind of rough, but big enough for two."

Mica raised an eyebrow as Doug talked about his blanket big enough for two. "I'll be fine." she said. "I will stand first watch." She took the rabbits from Doug and speared the meat on two long sticks. She handed one to him then sat by the fire as she watched the flames lick over the meat.

"And what exactly are we watching out for?" Doug asked as he watched the meat cook slowly and rapped himself in the blanket.

Caleb jumped at the attacker and knocked the dagger from him, but as he did so, the dagger pierced his arm and opened it up. "Go away!" he screamed. He jumped back on the attackers back, clawing his face and trying to get his hands around his throat, but the attacker threw him off and ran screaming into the night.

Eavan drew a deep breath as Caleb knocked the attacker from her. She screamed as she saw him fight the man. Her breath came hard as she watched the man run away into the darkness. She rushed to Caleb. “You’re hurt. Let me see.” She examined his arm and cleaned his wound. “It needs stitches,” she told him. “Here sit down.” She pulled a medical kit from her pack as she went through her supplies. “I’m sorry I don’t have anything for the pain.” She pulled the needle and thread, stitching him quickly. Her hands worked fast to minimize his pain. “I…thank you.” She told him softly as she looked into his eyes. She turned her attention away from him and finished tending his wound, securing it with a bandage. “We need to get out of here. I know a safe place.” She rose and led him to a small cottage.

Mica watched Doug as he cooked his rabbit. She pulled hers from the fire and began to eat slowly. "For whatever or whoever took Caleb. They may still be around." She watched the fire dance on the wood as her eyes reflected the dancing flames.

Doug began to chew his rabbit ravishingly."So..you think someone actually took Caleb. Do we have any idea who it could have been?"

Mica looked at him as they ate. "No I don't have any clue but from the trampled leaves you found, someone took him." She finished eating and laid back against the stone of the cave.

Doug went over to where she was in the cave. He laid his hand on her shoulder as she thought intently. "Don't worry, we will find him.....no matter what it takes. I would give my life any one member of our group."
