Adrian hesitated a moment and handed Mica the knife. He then picked up Ranus and pulled the little mark of red off of his tail. The red was actually a small band. He carefully handed it to Mica as well. "I trust you but remember, to scorn me is somthing that will plague you the rest of your life." As he said this, a look of sheer seriousness passed over his face.

Mica took the amulet and held it within the palm of her hand. She closed her eyes and felt the magic within the amulet. “There you are you little bugger.” She said softly. She opened her eyes and looked at Adrian. “You’re sister’s blood is within the amulet. It’s how she finds you. I suspect that your blood is within hers. I can try to break it but I will be totally vulnerable. I will have to trust you to protect me and keep me safe until it is over. Can you do that? After I do this take me somewhere safe and look over me.”

"I am sure I can handle that. I am more adept than my sister at transportation. I promise to protect you and keep you safe." Adrian said. Observing Mica's actions carefully for future possibilities.

Mica nodded her head to him. She laid down upon the ground. She would not be able to do this standing up. She pulled the straps of her shirt over her arms and pushed the fabric down to expose her heart. She took Adrian's hand in her's. "We have to make this cut together. Expose the heart but do not cut into it." She closed her eyes and drew a deep breath. She let it out slowly as her eyes fell to his. She locked him within her stare. She pushed against his hand as the knife pierced her skin over her heart. More pressure to cut through more layers of tissue. The sweat formed on her brow as her lip quivered with the pain. Tears welled within her eyes but did not fall. Her breath came fast as she fought to control the pain. "Open the skin and lay the amulet on top of my heart." She took another deep breath as she held the amulet to him. Her eyes remained locked on his. She took his hand and guided it to her heart, feeling as he lay the amulet within her. As the amulet touched the muscle it began to shake and soon it was buried within her heart itself. She screamed with the pain now as the amulet entered her heart. Her blood washing over it, through it. Cleansing it of Ariadne's tainted blood. The amulet could no longer be seen.

"Adrian. Now. Safety." she spoke the words as she passed out from the pain and blood loss.

Adrian carefully picked Mica up and stepped through the circle. He immediately teleported several places before ending up somewhere in Alaska. They appeared in a warm, actually well lit house that looked like it hadn't been lived in for a while. There was dust over everything. "I think we will be safe here." Adrian took Mica upstairs and laid her on the bed. Adrian then went outside and drew the huge circle that would protect himself and Mica from Ariadne or anyone else. This circle was impenetrable to almost everything. Even Ariadne wouldn't be able to undo this spell. As he finished, Adrian went inside and laid down on the couch, instantly falling asleep.

Mica felt the pain as the amulet parted its way from her heart. She let out the longest, loudest scream she had produced. The pain felt as if her heart was ripping in two. The amulet now lay again on top of her heart as it slowly beat. Her eyes were wide open on the sweat clung heavy to her brow. The pain stayed with her as her body fought to dispel Ariadne's blood from within her. She lay back upon the bed as once again she passed out.

Adrian bolted up as Mica screamed. He rushed upstairs as she passed back out. Adrian carefully removed the amulet. He went to the cabinet and pulled out a jar of the same stuff that had healed him a few nights prior. He carefully applied the concotion on Mica's wound. By morning it would be healed.

Mica stirred, slowly coming around. She tried to sit up to see where she was but she felt her head spin. She felt felt around the wound to her chest. The area was tender but the intense pain was gone. She called out for Adrian as she felt a panic come over her.

Adrian ran up the stairs from where he had been sleeping on the couch. He entered the room and saw a panicked look on Mica's face. "What? What's wrong?!?"

Mica reached out to him. She could hardly believe she was doing it. "Adrian!" she said as she looked at him with something in her eyes. Her heart was beating madly as her body cleared the last of the tainted blood from within it.

Adrian knelt by Mica's bed. He gently took her hand and held it as the pain of Ariadne's blood passed from her. "Are you okay? What do you need?" Adrian asked, concern written all over his face.

As Doug and Salgou finally recouperated in the spirit world they sat up. "Now, back to buisness" Doug said to Salgou curled beside him. "We have to find Mica!" Doug said. Doug thought hard in his head, searching for some sign of Mica somewhere. "Mica, can you hear me. Where are you! I couldn't defeat her, but I did weaken her a little bit. Please Mica, if you can hear me answer. Let my heart touch yours so I can know where you are.....MICA!!!" Doug said as he and Salgou reentered to the human world.

Mica pulled him tightly to her. She trembled as her body regained its composure. She held him for longer than she had intended but couldn't let him go.

Adrian seemed shocked for a moment but then returned Mica's embrace. As he held her comfortingly, a single tear fell down Adrian's face. He mumbled something barely audible.

Mica pulled back from Adrian slightly. "The amulet? Did it work? Did you feel it? It is now imbued with my blood, my heart. She should not be able to track you again."
