Mica felt something familiar brush against her mind as she began to let the dark feel take over. Her chance to end this war was within her grasp. She felt Doug’s thoughts within her mind. She took a chance to reach back to him. ‘Love I have no idea what I’m doing but I can’t pass up this opportunity. I can feel it surging within me. I have to go.”

Doug listened as she touched his mind. "Okay, I will be close behind. I am trusting you Mica. I hope you know what you are doing." He could feel the power increasing as they got closer. Doug suppressed his energy so that they could not feel him. "Mica lower your energy. It is the only way we will get in undetected."

Mica smiled from underneath the hood. She pulled back her power but the darkness within her began to swell. Mica felt as it surged at the feel of the darkness within the Dark Lord. The feel made her begin to sway as it encompassed her fully. She tried to focus on her task but her mind was becoming clouded. The lines between light and dark began to blur.

Doug almost yelled at her as she continued on. "Mica! Snap out of it! I am risking my life for you and trusting you with all that I have, and this is how you handle things, but letting it get the best of you. You darn well better pull it together right now if you love me! The darkness is powerful, but your will is more powerful. Listen to me, clear your mind and know right from wrong. That is what we are practicing anyway!"

Mica felt Doug’s words as she struggled to pull herself back. She lingered behind the others, backing slowly away. The further she got from the Dark Lord, the weaker the darkness became within her. Mica started to turn but suddenly felt something evil and vile before her. The Dark Lord. She stood, hidden beneath the hood of the cloak but it was too late. She felt the touch on her forehead and then everything went black.

Doug saw as the Dark Lord appeared before Mica. He touched her forehead and she began to faint. Doug jumped down from the tree as he tried to save Mica, he ran towards her with everything that he had. "Leave her alone!" He shouted as he struck the Dark Lord in the back. The Dark Lord was taken by surprise as if he was unaware that Doug had been there. He fell to his knees as Doug hit him. Doug then grabbed Mica in his arms and began to run as the Dark Lord shouted in a deep demonic voice. "After them!".....Suddenly with one fowl swoop his minions charged after Doug and Mica, with a speed that Doug had never seen in shadow figures. Doug ran with all his power. He jumped into the trees and began to jump from one to the next with great agility. He then landed on the ground again as he continued to run.

Suddenly without warning the Dark Lord appeared in front of them, as if they weren't going to be able to get away. Doug sighed as he laid Mica on the ground by a tree and transformed. "You want a fight? Lets Go!" Doug said as he knew that he most likely wouldn't be able to defeat him. He tried to touch the sleeping Mica with his mind, attempting to break through the barriers that were set in place. "Mica, Mica please hear me, and get out of here while you can! I will hold him off."

The Dark Lord loomed large over Doug. His rage and fury sounded within the bellowing of his voice. “How dare you interfere! She is beyond your reach mortal.” His laughter rang throughout the forest. His eyes bore into Doug as the black swords materialized within his outstretched hands. “She is one with my blood now. Thanks to my loving Ariadne. She truly is magnificent but nowhere near the prize that I will have in Mica.”

Mica heard Doug’s call to her as if he were a million miles away. She tried to go to him but felt something holding her in the depths of darkness.

Doug screamed out with intense emotion as the Dark Lord spoke. "Light will always prevail over dark! There is no way you can defeat me. My love for Mica will not allow you to take her away!" Doug said, and with that he used every ounce of his energy to deliver Mica away from this area. He teleported her to a place not even he knew so that he couldn't tell anyone. He hoped that Mica had the strength to fight this and become herself again. He needed her so bad as he fell to his knees from such effort. He was completely defenseless as his head sagged looking at the ground as he weaved. "You can do with me what you want, but I will never allow you to hurt Mica!"

"Mica, please, please fight this. I love you, and know you can." Doug thought to her as he prepared for what was next.

The Dark Lord laughed wickedly at Doug’s words. “Fool! I do not wish to harm her. I wish to take her as my mate!” The Dark Lord lunged toward Doug, his sword raised high above his head as he began his downward swing.

Mica began to stir slowly. She heard Doug, felt his love and something else, a tiny part of Doug within her growing. She felt as the darkness began to give way to the light and soon she was on her feet. “Doug?” she called loudly as she looked around. This was not where she remembered being. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Her mind reached out across the vastness and a smile came across her lips as she felt him. It left quickly as she felt danger around him. Doug was in trouble. Mica waved her hand and stepped into the portal. Her bond with Doug would guide her to his side.

Doug snarled as The Dark Lord said this. He dodged the Dark Lords attack and came to rest to the side of him. The anger built inside of him. "Who do you think you are! I have looked so long for a love like the one I feel for Mica, and I will never....and I mean never......give that away!! There is no way in hell you will have her for your mate, she and I are meant to be, forever, and I will kill you before that happens!" Doug raged as the power rose inside of him. It was as if they were fighting over territory, but Mica was no territory. She was the love of his life, and he would never give her away. He readied himself again for attack as he extended his razor sharp claws. A light began to illuminate from his body as the power surged within him, making him stronger that he had ever felt. "You see! This is what love does! Love is what makes me strong! And Hate and evil is what makes you weak!" Doug yelled as his eyes burned and his body became almost like an intense beam of light.

The Dark Lord cringed as they light grew strong. He covered his eyes as he yelled. "Aggg!!! You Fool! Do you realize how weak you are! You will never defeat me! Never!!!!!"

Doug felt Mica coming to him, searching for him as their bond grew stronger. "Mica, I can feel you." Doug thought as he raced towards the Dark Lord.

Mica felt Doug strongly as the portal opened near him. She concentrated on Doug and was able to see through his eyes. A small smile curled the corners of her mouth as she leapt from the portal hitting the ground in a roll and landing on her feet with her swords in hand. She grinned over at Doug, seeing him in his feline form. “d**n! You look so hot right now!” She turned her attention to the Dark Lord, her eyes narrowing. “But you…loathsome as ever your lowness.” She drew her sword back to attack along side Doug the feeling that he was within her as well as beside her crushing the darkness within her.

The Dark Lord laughed maniacally as he saw Mica appear and Doug advance on him. He disappeared in a cloud of black smoke, his words drifting slowly in his wake. “This is not over. Not by a long shot. She will be mine and she will do it willingly!”

Doug was about to strike out at the Dark Lord when suddenly he disappeared in a cloud of smoke. "Sh*t!" Doug yelled as he looked around ,"I almost had him!" He said as he slowly turned into his human form and the light illuminating from him began to dissipate. "Mica, thank God you are ok." Doug said as he walked over to her and took her in his embrace.

Mica sheathed her weapons as she held tightly to Doug. “It’s because of you. I can’t explain it. I felt you inside me and it helped me push the darkness down.” She pulled back to look into Doug’s eyes. “I’m okay because of you.”

Doug continued to hold her in his arms. "You are alive because you are strong. Maybe I was an ingredient in your ability to withstand the darkness, but it was all you. Give yourself credit for once in your life." Doug said as he continued to hold her.

Mica smiled as she held him tightly. “Yes sir.” She told him softly. She smiled wider as she put words to her thoughts. “Doug…it’s my love for you that allowed me to put down the darkness. It’s still there but I think my love for you is the key to controlling it.”
