Mica smiled widely at him. "You are totally wicked awesome! Do you know that?" She grabbed a tuft of Co-Co's mane and softly jumped up on her, kicking her leg slowly over the mare's back. "Ready?"

"Well I've never been called that before. He said laughing. One more thing" he said. He ran back into the barn and pulled out a white felt cowboy hat. "This is to welcome you to Texas." he said, pulling a brown one over his head. He jumped onto Lightning's back and took off, hoping Mica'd catch up.

Mica adjusted the cowboy hat on her head then lightly kicked Co-Co, turning her to follow Caleb and Lightening. She laughed happily for the first time in a long time as she rode with him. The wind picked up her hair beneath the hat, causing it to flow behind her. "I have missed you Caleb!" she told him as she touched his thigh, wrinkling her nose at him before she took off ahead of him. "Tag!" she yelled back over her shoulder.

"Hey no fair, you can't tag me." he yelled playfully. He spurred his stallion hard and tried to catch up to Mica, but something had suddenly clouded his mind. He saw bodies laying everywhere around him and two people standing atop a hill looking down on the slain, tears in their eyes, shimmering as they fell to the ground. Caleb looked up to see a Dark figure above him, sword shining as the figure brought it down for the final blow. Caleb fell from his horse and landed hard on his arm, but falling unconsious before he hit the ground.

Mica felt something across her bond with Caleb that she didn't understand. She pulled her horse abruptly to change direction as she saw Caleb fall from the horse. "Caleb!" she screamed as she spurred the horse to him. She dismounted before the horse stopped, landing beside him as he lay on the ground. She reached out to feel his chest. Her hands moved lightly over him as she checked him for injuries. "Caleb what have you done?" she asked as she felt the bones askew in his arm. Mica looked around and found something to provide support for a splint. She took off her overshirt and ripped it into strips. Caleb was still unconscious and Mica sighed. She was glad he was cause this was going to hurt. She touched his head to send him calming images, then reduced the fracture in his arm and splinted it.

Caleb saw nothing but black but heard so many sounds. The screams of pain of humans and animals alike echoed through his mind. He heard his name being called and saw Jen running towards him but then he heard a gun shot, saw the bullet strike Jen in the heart and saw her blood running down her chest as her last scream said "I love you." to Caleb. Caleb ran hard to her side, but all he saw was her cold lifeless eyes.

Mica watched as Caleb lay unconscious before her. She felt his pain but it was not physical. She frowned as she moved closer to him. She leaned over him, her face close. She placed her hands to his temples as she felt the pull of her power, straining to her command. "Caleb." she called to him within his mind. Her energy enveloped him as she strengthened the connection. "Caleb. Follow the sound of my voice. Come to me. Come back. I need you." She felt fear as she struggled to bring him back from whatever gripped him.

"Mica is that you?" he asked. He knew that he had to go to her, Jen was dead and gone now, he must look to the future.

Mica leaned her forehead to his. Her power increasing. "Yes Caleb. Follow my voice and come back to me. We have much to do yet. Come on or I'll come in and kick your butt." She laughed softly. "I love you Caleb. You know that. Come back now. I still need you. Don't leave me alone again."

Caleb groaned as he woke up. "I'm here, now you can take care of me like I have you so many times." he said laughing. His arm suddenly exploded in pain as the nerves sent the shock through his body.

Mica moved back to give him room. She felt the pain within him. "Caleb, I can take the pain from you if you'll let me." She looked at him as concern shown on her face.

"No, I did this so I can bear it." he said. He wasn't going to let Mica make something easier on him just becuase it hurt.

Mica narrowed her eyes and looked at him intently. She punched him hard in his other arm. "Does that help get your mind off your broken arm you stubborn horse's ass?" She moved to help him to rise. "If you won't let me help you with me power then let's get to the house so I can properly cast your arm. You still keep a wide stock of medical supplies?"

Mica jumped on Co-Co and followed Caleb back to the house. She watched him intently, worry drawn on her face. She would have to find out what happened but not until she properly cared for his arm.
