"Mica Doug, this is Eavan, she's the one that saved my hide. I was chained in a cave and she helped me escape." he explained. He didn't think much about the casual contact of Eavan's hand on his arm, so he just sat there with a smile. "Mica, why are you waddling?" he asked.

Mica stared more intensely at Eavan. There was something about her she didn't like. "Hello Eavan." She told her as she eyed the woman's hand on Caleb. She returned her attention to Caleb. "What do you mean you were chained in a cave and she helped you escape? And what do you mean waddling? I have been stabbed and fell from a cliff to the rocks below looking for you so forgive me if I came out of my ordeals with a waddle!" She looked at him exasperated. "And wasn't it lucky that SHE just happened to be around?"
Eavan watched as Mica began to rant. She moved a little more behind Caleb but she didn't take her eyes off Mica. She had a knowing glint in them. "Yes it was lucky for him wasn't it." she told her cooly.

Doug finally came up as the tension between Mica and this new girl was growing intense. "Ummm, hey Caleb......we.....have been looking for you everywhere......nice to see you are.....ok." He took one look at Eavan and said ,"You are doing more than ok......you are doing great!" Doug laughed coyly and said "It is a funny little waddle though isn't it?"

Mica turned her gaze sharply to Doug. Her eyes narrowed as she looked at him. "Enough talk of my walk. Would you rather still be carrying me on your back Doug?" She turned quickly glaring at Eavan as she caught the woman's snicker behind Caleb.
"What is your problem? You find something amusing in this?" she shot sharply as she began to advance on the woman with her fists clenched at her sides. There was no mistaking the anger flashing within her eyes. She didn't like this woman and didn't trust her but she didn't know why. It was just a feeling she had.
Eavan quickly put a hand to her mouth to stifle her laugh but was too late as Mica heard it. She squeezed Caleb's arm as Mica advanced on her. Her body tensed as she prepared for an attack.

"MICA! STOP! What the hell is wrong with you? Eavan just saved my life and your ready to fight her??" he called. Mica had never acted like this before and it worried him. He looked in her eyes and saw the anger and suddenly he knew what was wrong. "I don't trust her either Mica, but she's been kind so far and I've been watching her." he told her mentally. "Yea Doug, I'm awsome!" he said with a laugh.

Mica stopped as Caleb spoke. She glared at Eavan then took a deep breath and composed herself as she felt Caleb speak across their bond. She turned her attention to him but didn’t say a word. ‘I hope you know what you’re doing.’ She told him over the mental bond. Mica turned her attention back to Eavan. “Forgive me. It has been a trying couple of days and my friend here has been whining about being hungry for the last four hours. We found you by following the smell of the steaks. Doug is quite the tracker when it comes to finding a meal.” She turned to look at him, winking, her mood now lightening.
Eavan came from behind Caleb. “You are both welcome to come in and have something to eat. I have steak but not much else I’m afraid.” She turned her attention to Caleb. “You should really lie down a bit. You are still healing.”
Mica looked at Caleb closer. “What the hell happened to you?” she asked as she closed her eyes. She reached out to assess his injuries then opened her eyes. “Who stitched your arm? You didn’t do it yourself did you?”

Doug was able to squander a laugh as the mood lightened a little. He felt that something was up with this Eavan character but he didn't know what. She seemed kind enough, and there wasn't anything noticeable he could point out, but something was there. "Well, I for one would love a steak, that is fine with me." He said as he walked forward.

"Eavan stiched my arm up for me." Caleb said. He looked behind him and saw Eavan looking through him to Mica and Doug. "Well Doug, let's get out of here and get you some food." he said. He walked in and threw some steaks on the grill for Mica and Doug. "Rare and both parties?" he said.

Mica watched Caleb and Eavan. He acted strange around her. She worried because of his light-hearted, caring nature. He always tried to see the good in everyone and she knew he was doing the same with this one. ‘Caleb, when are you going to stop trying to save lost souls? You’re like a child bringing in strays. One day it’s going to bite you in the ass.’ Mica told him mentally as she moved to follow them into the house. She was much hungrier than she let on and her back and side were actually hurting, though she hid it from the others. “Yes rare please.” Mica told him as the smell of the bloody meat made her heart race.
Eavan watched Mica closely as she walked with Caleb. She could feel the bond between them though hearing the thoughts of others was not something she had been blessed with. She could feel emotions and see visions of things past and things to come but the visions she found were fluid and changing as choices dictated. She leaned to whisper to Caleb, afraid that if she spoke out loud she would set Mica off again. “Caleb, Mica is hurt worse than she let’s on. The bandage on her side is blood soaked though she hides it. I can smell the blood.”

"Yes Eavan, I know. She'll let me me dress it when she's ready." he told her. "Mica, I know that it'll bite me in the ass, but maybe that'll teach me, until then I'm here for the lost souls." he said as he pulled the steaks off and served them

Mica glared at him. ‘Well let’s hope that when it does your still alive to learn the lesson.’ Mica took the steak from Caleb eating it quickly. She lay her head back against the couch as her strength waned. “I think I’m just going to rest a while.” She said and then she stilled, her eyes closed.
Eavan watched Mica and Doug. “Your friends seem to care a great deal for you Caleb. You are lucky.” She smiled softly and moved to sit on the hearth.

"Yes, I am lucky." he said. "Mica you need to rest, now." he said. He took Mica by the arm and led her to the couch on the living room and laid her down. "Rest now sis, and I'll watch over you." he said.

Eavan watched as Caleb moved Mica to the couch. The woman slept soundly as Eavan spoke quietly with Caleb. "You really should be resting as well." she told him softly.

Doug found a nice cozy place outside away from everyone where he could sleep soundly after eating his delicious steak. He laid down as Salgou came and warmed both of them comfortably. "Thank you Salgou," Doug said as his eyes drifted off, hearing the sounds of Calebs and Eavans voices in the background.

Mica's sleep was anything but peaceful. She dreamed many things in this strange place. She saw herself in many different lives. Every one had the same outcome. Pain, loss, misery, sorrow, betrayal by those around her, death. She saw Kyra within her dream state. 'Kyra what is the meaning of this?' Kyra lowered her head as her eyes closed. 'I'm sorry Mica. You have crossed into the place where every strand of time converges. Walk with me.'
Kyra led her deep within the recesses of the spirit world. She entered a large cave hidden behind a great waterfall. Mica looked in wonder as Kyra led her. 'What is this place?' Kyra smiled softly as she led to a glowing room. Mica gasped. Within the room were many strands of glowing, glittering blue light. Kyra turned to her. ‘This is the vault of the Huntress. Each strand you see before you is a life. Your life. Each within a different dimension, no two alike.’ Mica watched as one of the threads glowed brilliantly then burst into a mass of shimmering blue fragments that hung momentarily on the air until returning to an ornately carved wooden box sitting in the middle of the large cavern. ‘What happened?’ she asked as her brow furrowed slightly. Kyra looked away from her toward the box. Her voice low. ‘The Mica within that thread just died. Her essence has returned to the vault.’
Mica looked at Kyra. ‘I want to leave.’ She told her as she began to shiver. ‘Kyra…I feel no joy, no happiness within any of these threads. Is this my fate? To serve the council until my life is spent. To be betrayed by those closest to me. To be used as a tool in this fight.’ She felt her anger rise. Kyra softly rubbed her hand with her nose. ‘Nothing is set in stone little one. Each life, every life has choices that influence the outcome. The choices you make will shape your future.’ Mica turned, her departing words hung sharp on the air. ‘Then right now I choose to leave.’
Mica felt searing pain within her side. She screamed as she woke with a start. Sweat clung heavy to her. Her skin burned hot. She reached to her side and withdrew her hand to see blood running down it. She couldn’t understand how the wound had opened again. Doug had given her energy, attempted to heal her and still she lie wounded. She called out for Caleb.
