Eavan smiled. "This is where I hide out." She walked up the steps, leading him. "It took me nearly two years to build it and as long to ward it. The wards will not stop an attack but they will warn us if someone approaches. They will buy us enough time to escape." She opened the door and walked across the threshold. She took the oil lamp and lit it, then moved to the fireplace and arranged the wood within it lighting it. The flames danced to life as she sat watching them, lost in their entrancing dance. She shook her head softly and turned to Caleb. She motioned to him to sit on the couch as she rose and walked into the kitchen. "Are you hungry? Thirsty? You should eat and drink to replenish your strength."

"A glass of water or sweet tea would be lovely." he said. He looked in awe of the building he was in, it was a perfect house for two or three people, but it could easily accomodate more. He suddenly got a deja vu moment and saw blood all over the walls, broken furniture, and a broken body on the floor, before he could tell who it was, Eavan had came back.

Eavan was walking back to Caleb with a glass of sweet tea. She wavered, dropping the glass as she felt a disturbance around her. She raised her hand quickly to her head trying to clear the feeling. "I'm so clumsy," she told him as she shook her head and went back to the kitchen to get a towel. She mopped up the spilled tea and picked up the shards of glass. She came back to Caleb, handing him a fresh glass of sweet tea. "Sorry. I guess I'm a little tired from all of the strange events of this night."
She moved to sit on the hearth, looking at him. The warmth of the fire cast a soft golden glow on her as she watched him. "How is your arm?" she asked. "Is there anything I can do for you?"

Caleb took the glass gratefully and chugged it down. When she asked about his arm he moved it, but faltered before he got parallel. He gritted his teeth and tried again but with no avail. "Dern it." he muttered.

Eavan looked at him with worry in her eyes. "Caleb what is it?" She moved to him placing her hands on his arm lightly. "Move it again slowly but don't force it. Let me feel the play of the muscles and tendons within it." She looked at him as she let the warmth flow from her hands to his arm.

Caleb let her touch him, although it was strange to begin with. No one had really touched him except Mica and Jen, and one of those was gone now. "Be easy." he said through gritted teeth as he pulled his shoulder up.

Eavan held him, moving his arm gently. She felt her power within her surge as she let the warmth flow through her hands into the muscles and tendons within his arm. Her eyes held his within her gaze as she watched his face for reaction. "I don't want to hurt you." she told him softly as she tried to heal his arm. She placed a hand on his shoulder and the other on his elbow as she let her energy flow to him. "Let me know if it feels any better."

Caleb realized what she was doing as when her energy took effect. He jerked back saying, "I don't need your energy, just time.". He was a very proud person and didn't like taking things, especially energy and especially from a strange person.

Eavan jumped at his reaction. She pulled her hands back quickly from him. “I’m sorry,” she told him as she turned away from him. “I should have asked you first. I didn’t mean any harm.” She moved back to the hearth to sit. She smiled slightly at him then turned her gaze into the fire.

Caleb held her gaze with a hard glare then it went away. "I'm sorry, I'm just not used to being touched." he said.

"It's okay Caleb. I shouldn't have..." She smiled softly as she rose to go into the kitchen. "Are you hungry?" she asked him. Eavan went into the ice room and pulled some steaks. "I have steak, some steak, or steak." she told him laughing softly.

Doug and Mica continued to look for Caleb through out the day, shouting his name and looking for some sign as to what might have happened to him or where he might have went. "Where in the world could he have gone?" Doug asked as they continued to search.

Mica looked at Doug. "I don't know but we need to find a place to stop for the night. I don't think I can go much longer."

Eavan smiled. "Of course. Is their any other way to eat them?" She smiled as she seasoned the steaks then moved to the grate over the fire. She placed them on the open fire. She let them sit for just long enough to brown the side then she turned them. She looked at him. "Do you want anything else with them?"
