History: Edward was born into a normal familym but they were killed when he was twelve. He had an infant sister, but never knew what happened to her. They were split up and put into foster care. He became went into the military at eighteen, then went into the CIA, specializing in assassination and spy work. His most recent assignment is hunting down these so-called "bonded" people, as they represent a threat to national security.

"Morran," the general was telling him, "We have a new job for you. Rumor has reached us for a new religious group spreading throughout the country. They don't have a name for themselves yet, but they claim that they are bonded to 'spirit animals.'"
"Sound like some kinda voo-doo thing," Edward commented.
"Yes. They have not cause much harm yet, but they are promoting ideas of war and bloodshed. They say they are fighting against enemy 'spirits.'
"Your assignment is to capture these people. Do not kill them unless you have to. We want them alive for questioning and to try to set them straight. Can I count on you, Agent Morran?" Morran thought for a moment.
"You can count on me, General," he said.
