AS he saw Salgou leave Mendus thought it best to get Vender to. He returned just after Salgou. They were still bickering about how equal they are Mendus noticed.

Jenus slithered over to Salgou and Mendus. He whispered to them only, "Our humans are not meant to be here. Mica is a special case. She is the Huntress. Doug and Vender have no place to be here. There are things that the council does not want known yet. You should have known that!" Jenus hissed. Jenus turned and slithered back to his post nearly beneath the Water spirit.

"This can't go on." Water said thoughtfully. Before Fire could speak Air said, "I don't care how equal you think your Humans are, they have no right to be here!" he spoke kindly, but his eyes were harsh. "Kyra, you know that Mica is only allowed here when we need to address the group as a whole." Spirit said. He was a kind looking man, but the fire in his eyes said he was not to be contended with. "Kyra, you should be ashamed of the way you just addressed us, even though Fire may have spoken rashly." Earth said, quickly silencing a retort from Fire. "I have an idea. There shall be a set of trials for this group to see wether or not they are worthy of the respect. Kyra, since you think their assests are essential, there will be many trials. You have a day to prepare. Each Spirit will challenge you to a specific task, then you will complete a group task for each. Then there will be another challenge given by me to your Humans and only your humans." Spirit said. The animals knew better than to talk back, so they went to prepare.

Salgou shouted with great pride..."Not meant to be here?!!! Doug is my partner, my other half, I cannot go on without him, and you say he is not meant to be here!!!! I am outraged that you would think such a thing. What good is he if he does not know what is going on. If he doesn't know every single detail of every little piece of the puzzle, then how can anyone accomplish anything! You all should know that if he weren't here I would tell him everything that was said. I refuse to keep anything from Doug, he will know everything that I know! I love Doug like a brother and will be by HIS side no matter what! He is my bond Partner. He is strong willed, powerful, good natured and he and I will fight with you till the end, whole heartedly, and if that doesn't give him a seat at this table......Then I don't know what in the world does!!!!!" With that Salgou sat back down furious but quiet then said "O, and these obstacles that you will set before us....well......we can accomplish anything together." With that he left to prepare.
Doug just sat and looked at Salgou, "Wow Salgou, I have never seen you so distraught over something. I love you too". Doug thought to Salgou.

"No matter how outraged you all may be, this is the rules of the Council. Only Mica's people would even be thought about allowed them into the council room, but never really brought into the council's doing unless absolutely necessary. We don't mean for you to keep anything from him, but this is our place of sancity. What if he was tortured, would you want them to come here and destroy everything?" Spirit asked in a quiet voice. Before Salgou could answer, the Shawman screamed, "Dismissed!" and all went black in the cave.

Hermes nodded, understanding the task that would have to be conquered. Once the cave went black, Hermes zoomed out of it and returned to the material world and related everything to Archer, who was having no success on flying.
"WHAT?!" Archer yelled when Hermes told him that he would be undergoing trials. "ARE THEY INSANE? I HAVEN"T TRAINED ENOUGH?!"
Hermes grimaced at Archer's shouts. "Calm down...I have faith in you. Besides, you're a natural." He smirked.
Archer moaned. "What kind of natural can't fly?" He stared up at the apple.
"One that has yet to learn how to control and maintain his abilities. Be cautious...the trials will start even if you are not ready."
Grumbling, Archer nodded and waited.

Mendus held back his angry retort that would have been followed with a snap of his jaws. He left with Vender to go prepare."Hey Mendus can I get my weapon now?!, asked Vender."Of course,"Mendus replied.

Kyra's eyes glowed red with her anger. 'Come now Mica!' She turned and led the way back to the swamp. Mica looked at Kyra. She sensed a great rift growing within their ranks. Kyra fumed as she paced back and forth. 'Mica. Remember what we talked about all these years. What we may be forced to do?' Mica nodded as the sadness came over her face. 'I fear that time may be fast approaching.'

Gallea had sat back, watching the council with his knowing eyes. He understood the frustration of the bonded spirits, but he also understood what the council meant. He returned to the material world to find Bruce running along the field with the speed of a horse, the agility and power of the animal.
'Bruce,' Gallea said, walking up to his bonded human. 'I have some distressing news.' Bruce listened intently to Gallea's words, then turned back to the field, shouting at the top of his lungs, his voice sending waves rippling through the grass.
'Very well,' Bruce said, the anger leaving him as it was replaced with a sense of acceptance. 'I will do what I need to do.'
