Bruce smiled at Eavan, leaning back in his chair and crossing his arms, forcing his biceps to show more. "I could tell you my name," he said, looking her squarely in the eyes. "But then, if you were attacked because of us, and so close to us, you should know our names. Also, this being attacked because of us disturbs me because if they were after us through you they could have attacked us. No. This attack was not real."

Eavan smiled as her face flushed. Her skin heated as she watched him move so that his biceps flexed more. ‘Two can play this game.’ She thought to herself as she rose to sit then leaned forward resting her arms on her knees. She looked at him as her shirt fell open at the neck fully exposing her ample breasts. “I do not know your names, only that you are spiritwalkers. I felt it and then next I felt the shadow figures all around me. I assumed that since you both were close, they were after you and I just happened to get in the way." She looked at him as her eyes began to show a hint of annoyance.
Mica frowned very slightly. 'Most of that is true but some I am unable to tell. She is more than she seems.' she told Bruce through their bond.

Bruce looked at the woman in her eyes, not even struggling to do so with her breasts hanging out. "Right," he said, smiling. She was smart, but wasn't completely wise. "Spiritwalkers, eh? And what about you? You're obviously one as well. But where's your spirit animal? Hiding? Watching? Or are you something completely different and not even human?"

Eavan stared at the man. “You still have not told me your name.” She motioned to her left as Jadan appeared. The large black cat padded softly to her, jumped on the couch and curled up next to her laying his head on her thigh. “This is Jadan. He has not been watching or hiding. He was tied up in council. There seems to be dissension between the members.” She leaned back against the couch as she stroked the large cat. “How about your spirit animals? Do they go with you everywhere?” Jadan purred loudly as Eavan stroked his head. “My name is Eavan…Hunter.” She had decided to do away with the pretense.

Bruce smiled at Eavan, laughing and shaking his head. "Oh wouldn't that be nice," he said, looking over at Mica. "Wouldn't it love? But, seriously, Eavan. If I were truly the Hunter of those legends, wouldn't I already have the answers to the questions I'm asking? And I know I haven't given you my name. You think I would give out something so dear and precious to an enemy who laid a trap so she could meet us? No. I don't think I will be giving you my name until you tell me exactly why you planned for us to take you."

Eavan laughed as she continued to stroke Jadan's head. "Perhaps the reason that the encounter was staged was because your good nature always gets the best of you. You have a need to help any that you see in trouble. Perhaps the plan all along was to get you to bring me to your home so that we could track you and through you find the Huntress. Perhaps you should look out your window now."

Bruce grinned at Eavan, but did not give in to any panic. "There's nothing out there but snow," he said, using his senses and power. He could feel every inch of his farm and knew that there was nothing out of the ordinary. "If I were you, Eavan, I would begin to be a little more cooperative. . . unless you wish me to interrogate you roughly."

Eavan leaned forward grinning back at Bruce. “Are you so sure? Perhaps we bide our time. Perhaps the others wait for a signal from me before cutting through the fabric of time and space.” She raised her brow as she looked at him, her voice cool and even. “I like it rough.” She told him playfully.
Mica rose quickly from her chair as she felt the air outside the house begin to shift. “d**n you!” she screamed as she ran forth grabbing Eavan within the grasp of her power. “Bruce they’re coming as we speak. I can feel the wrinkles in space outside.” Her voice took on a calm tone as she turned to look in his eyes. “You should have let me kill her in the spirit world.”

Bruce stood calmly, his eyes alight with fury and anger. He slapped Eavan, knocking her across the room and into a low wall, shattering it. "Stop!" he shouted at Mica, moving closer to her, whispering. "You just told her my name." He kissed her cheek, then seized Eavan with his power and pulled her to him, completely restrained. "Well done, pawn of the Dark Lord. What did you think you would accomplish? Hm? If they find and destroy us, all hope for a peaceful world is lost, and your life will turn to nothing as the Dark Lord rapes and kills you. And when he does, your spirit animal will fall under his command and your own spirit will disappear into nothingness!"

Caleb rushed head long into the house. "BRUCE MICA, THERE'S SHADOW WARRIORS EVERYWHERE, WE'RE SURRONDED!" he said breathlessy. "Eavan, when they let go run." he said with his mind. "Meet me in the woods, there are endless amounts of copies out there, they'll give us plenty of time." he said.

Bruce was shocked to see Caleb again, and it showed in his reaction. He lifted his hand and suddenly a sword appeared. "Caleb?" he asked, caution in his voice. "Is that really you or some kind of apparition? How do you know this woman? She set a trap to catch us. How can we trust her?"

Eavan’s body crashed into the low wall. Her breath left her as she felt the impact. She struggled to catch her breath as she tasted the blood on her lip. She felt him grasp her tightly within his power, pulling her to him. Her eyes narrowed as her words issued forth with venomous hate. “You shall pay for that Hunter!” she said as she spat blood at him. Eavan felt her ribs pierce her as she struggled for breath. “You have no idea who I am. I do not fear the Dark Lord in the ways of which you speak. At least not yet. I am safe until…” She stopped as her attention was caught by a loud crash through the front door. She felt a familiar presence before she saw him. ‘Caleb!’ she called with her mind. She acknowledged him in her mind and turned her attention back to the Hunter. “There is more at play and at stake here than you realize.” She told him as she closed her eyes, a smile lighting on her lips.
Mica watched with surprise as Bruce yelled at her then slapped Eavan throwing her across the room. Her attention turned to the door as Caleb burst through. “We know Caleb. We felt them. It’s alright. We have her. They will not attack as long as we hold her.”

Bruce shook his head, looking at Eavan. "You have NO idea what we're trying to do, do you?" he asked, his voice calm and reserved. "There will always be evil in the world, just as there will always be good. We are the middle ground. Without us, the world falls into chaos and unending war! Both worlds! Would you really want that? Would you want to live your entire life fighting and never truly living?"

"No Bruce, they will attack. I just had to fight my way through them to get to you. They're in the hills with explosives waiting. They don't care for this girl, they just want you dead." he said

Bruce kept his hold on Eavan, looking over at Caleb, then outside. "What do we do, then?" he asked. "How can we trust one who would try to kill us?"
